AVX Extends SMPS Capacitor QPL Offering

GREENVILLE, S.C., Jan. 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has received T-Level MIL-PRF-49470 qualification approval for its new 25V, unencapsulated, BX characteristic (X7R dielectric), horizontally stacked SMPS capacitors in case sizes 1-6. The new components further expand AVX’s already extensive offering of BX characteristic SMPS capacitors listed on the MIL-PRF-49470 QPL, which now includes 25V, 50V, and 100V unencapsulated and 50V and 100V encapsulated styles with high reliability T-Level qualification for space applications. AVX also offers B-Level qualification (similar to DSCC 87106) for 25V, 50V, and 100V encapsulated and unencapsulated styles for military flight, and harsh environment applications.

AVX receives MIL-PRF-49470 QPL for COG SMPS Series

AVX M49470 COGGREENVILLE, S.C., Jan. 10, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has received T-Level MIL-PRF-49470 qualification approval for its 100V, 200V, and 500V BP characteristic (C0G [NP0]) horizontally stacked SMPS capacitors in encapsulated and unencapsulated styles in case sizes 3, 4, and 5. With the addition of the newly approved components, AVX’s offering of temperature stable C0G (NP0) SMPS capacitors on the MIL-PRF-49470 QPL has expanded to include encapsulated and unencapsulated devices in six case sizes (1-6) with voltage ratings spanning 50-500V.

AVX BME Space MLCCsGREENVILLE, S.C. – AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has announced the market introduction of the first space-level, base metal electrode (BME), X7R dielectric MLCCs.  Exhibiting capacitance voltage (CV) capabilities superior to those of conventional precious metal electrode (PME) MLCCs, the new BME MLCCs provide higher capacitance values in significantly smaller cases sizes, reducing both board space and total component weight, which are especially critical in space applications, while maintaining the high reliability performance required by the space industry.

European Space Agency approves AVX tantalum capacitors

AVX ESA Tantalum CapsAVX has revealed that the European Space Agency have approved their high-reliability TES Series low ESR tantalum chip capacitors. Having received full ESA qualified part list qualification approval in accordance with the European Space Components Coordination specification ESCC3012/004, the TES Series tantalum SMD chip capacitors offer higher capacitance and lower ESR values than any existing ESCC-qualified tantalum devices designed for use in aerospace applications.
