COTS, Kemet, Low ESR, Multi Anode TTI: Panasonic E-Cap Combines Long Life and Low ESR
(Electropages) Two new ranges of aluminium electrolytic Panasonic capacitors are now available from TTI. The new FR Series of aluminium electrolytic capacitors is designed for applications that require ultra-low ESR, an extended product life, and are tight on space.
Panasonic Offers Hybrid Aluminum Polymer Capacitor
The Panasonic newly developed hybrid technology introduced as V-ZA and V-ZC series brings together low ESR characteristics of the conductive polymer capacitor and the low leakage current of aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The V-ZA and V-ZC series shows a compact design, high reliability of the conductive polymer capacitor and the safety of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor.
AVX Advanced Capacitors Ensure Long-Term Performance Stability
To meet the demanding performance and harsh environmental conditions of automotive applications, component manufacturers have developed professional-grade tantalum capacitors that ensure long-term electrical performance stability. The professional tantalum technology satisfies the automotive industry’s need for rugged capacitors that maintain high-performance standards under electrical and mechanical stress. Technical improvements have been made that strengthen the structure of the capacitor and give it more robust performance in a variety of applications.
Cooper Announces Long Life Supercap Series
The Cooper Bussmann XB Series supercapacitor is now available from Digi-Key, delivering technology designed to last for an application’s life span. Ultra-low ESR and high capacitance supply pulse power, making other energy sources more efficient. The 20-year operating life and broad temperature range results in the lowest total cost of ownership for an energy device, says the company.
Murata EDLC's Offers High Current and Low ESR
Murata introduced a high peak current electrical double-layer capacitor (EDLC) series with a profile of 2.5mm±0.2mm. The newest EDLC series from Murata also features lowest resistance (40m? to 60m?) and stable temperature characteristics, enabling it to be charged and discharged frequently over the operating range of -30°C to +70°C.
ESR calculations for electrolytic capacitors at lower temperatures
Electrolytic capacitors are widely used in automotive electronics. The devices are exposed to a wide temperature range from −40oC to +125oC. Electrolytic capacitors’ properties at “hot” temperatures are well-explored thanks to the Arrhenius Law (see related article, “Determining end-of-life, ESR, and lifetime calculations for electrolytic capacitors at higher temperatures”).
AVX Announces MLCC featuring copper electrodes
GREEN
VILLE, S.C. – AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components and interconnect solutions, has introduced a new series of ultra-miniature chip capacitors for the RF and microwave communications market. Featuring copper electrodes in place of standard precious metal electrodes, the new CU Series chip capacitors provide extremely low ESR, high Q, and tight tolerances. Available in 01005 and 0201 case sizes, the new copper electrode chip capacitors are ideal for applications including power amplifiers, handheld devices, GPS, vehicle location systems, and matching networks for wireless LANs.
