Murata unveils ZRB series MLCCs with Interposer Substrate

Murata Manufacturing will release new Monolithic Ceramic Capacitors with interposer substrate to the market. This MLCC with interposer substrate is a world-first MLCC that has the same length and width (LW size) as previous MLCC. The newly developed MLCC is provided with countermeasures for squealing and can be used to replace previous MLCC without the need for modifying the printed circuit board design.

Murata launches world’s first MLCC on interposer substrate

Murata today announced mass production of the first monolithic ceramic capacitor (MLCC) on a interposer substrate. Believed to be the world’s first MLCC to have this construction technique, the ZRA series has been designed specifically to absorb mechanical vibration generated within the capacitor, typically sounding as “squealing”, when a voltage is applied to it.

Kemet MLCCs Thwart Extreme Heat

A family of flexible termination MLCCs now includes COG and Ultra-Stable X8R dielectrics. The COG-type capacitors offer performance and capacitance stability up to 125°C. For even high-temperature applications, the Ultra-Stable X8R capacitors mitigate flex cracks that often develop under excessive board flex conditions and extreme environments up to 150°C.
